How is looking at a painting or a ceramic sculpture different from watching a TikTok clip or an Instagram reel?
Most people would answer duration — that physical art asks for slow, sustained attention, while digital content is short and fast — but is that still true? When Vine launched in 2013, it capped videos at six seconds; today, a single TikTok clip can stretch to an hour.
This exhibition thus borrows its title from that lineage, and then refuses its medium. Short Film contains no film — no screens, no projections, no moving image of any kind. Instead, it turns to the forms that preceded it: painting, drawing, and objects that hold still. The absence is not an oversight. It is the argument.
